Santa Cruz Farmer’s Market Desert Harvest Series: Wild Greens

As part of the Community Food Bank’s Desert Harvest series, information and demonstrations will be provided about how to identify, harvest, and use wild greens that are often plentiful in gardens and wild places this Spring season. Lambsquarter, chickweed, prickly lettuce, wild mustard, and espinaca are all nutritious edibles that may be used to spice up salads, pestos, sandwiches, soups, etc. Chickweed may also be used medicinally in salves and tinctures.
At Santa Cruz Farmer’s Market, located in St Augustine Plaza on W Congress St just east of Grande, Thursdays from 3-6pm.
