PLENTY PLANT WALK

April 20, 2014 @ 8:00 am - 11:30 am

Experience full-on Spring at its peak, a season of great abundance, especially if winter monsoons were kind, and heat remains gentle vs harsh.  Plenty means: wild greens in abundance, for a nutritious and delicious addition to salads, stir-fries, soup, pesto, juice, salsas, etc.  April plenty also means cactus foods nopalitos and cholla buds, and flowers and green seeds of palo verde trees, which make incredible snacks and sprouts.  It means medicinals like creosote and desert lavender leaves and flowers, chickweed and calendula in the garden, and juicy aloe and opuntia tissue.  Find allies and edibles alike.  Smell, taste, touch, observe.

WHERE:  Douglas Spring Trailhead, Rincon Mts

WHEN:  Sunday, April 19th, 8am-11:30am

HOW MUCH:  $10/person, up to ten people.  Please CONTACT me to sign up for walk; pay fee day of walk.

ETC:  Wear comfortable/sensible walking clothes and shoes.  Bring personal gear you need, like walking stick, water bottle, snax, sun protection, extra clothes, pack, camera, first aid, etc.  Bring supplies for notes and drawing if desired.  Please arrive 10 minutes early so walk starts on time.  Carpool if possible.  Snakes are likely to be active, so be aware.
